Why Show Notes Matter More Than You Think

Show notes are the only part of your podcast that search engines can read. Your audio is invisible to Google — your show notes page is not. Podcasts with substantial, well-structured show notes get discovered through search queries their episodes answer; podcasts with two-line descriptions don't.

2. Key takeaways (3-5 bullets). The actual insights, stated plainly. These are what get shared and quoted.

3. Timestamps. Every major topic shift, with descriptive labels ("Why most pricing advice is wrong — 14:32", not "Pricing — 14:32").

4. Resources and links. Everything mentioned: books, tools, guests' websites, previous episodes.

5. A guest bio (if applicable). Two sentences with a link. Guests share episodes that present them well.

Doing this properly by hand means: re-listening to the episode (or reading a transcript), noting topic shifts with timestamps, extracting quotes, writing the hook, formatting everything. Realistic time: 45-90 minutes per episode.
